Daily Announcements

The mission of Traverse City High School is to cultivate life-long learners by meeting their unique needs so all students will become confident, productive, and responsible community members.

Traverse City High School is an alternative high school that is focused on retaining students in school who would otherwise drop out. These students have a full range of intellectual capabilities, but may have difficulty with traditional time structures, lecture formats of learning, or have social issues that occupy a large portion of their energies. These students can, and want to learn; however, often the focus of that learning is not consistent with the way the curriculum is delivered in the comprehensive traditional high school.

Traverse City High School focuses on the student’s needs and abilities, offering a flexible individualized approach for the successful completion of high school and entry into the workforce. Semesters are nine weeks long, with classes that are performance-driven, self-paced, and designed to meet graduation requirements.
