East Middle School Students Receive Surprise Visit by Father Fred Foundation’s Spiritual Leader, Father Iakovos Olechnowicz While Rehearsing for November 19th Benefit Concert
On Thursday, November 19th, the Traverse City East Middle School Jazz and Symphony Band students will host a concert to benefit the Father Fred Foundation. Today students received a surprise visit and words of appreciation and encouragement from Father Iakovos Olechnowicz while rehearsing their performance pieces for Thursday evening’s concert. New World Language Opportunities for the 2009-2010 School Year

Middle school students have more full-year foreign language course options for the 2009-2010 school years. Full-year courses are available in French, German, Spanish, and Chinese (online course). High school credit will be earned with successful completion of a full-year foreign language course.  For those students who may not want to take the full-year course but would still like to experience a foreign language, semester course options are available in French, German, and Spanish.
    

Eighth Grade Students Can Earn High School Graduation Credits

As part of their regular course work, all TCAPS 8th grade students can earn one high school credit in the following subjects: math, science, and foreign language. Up to three credits can be earned when students pass designated tests in these content areas.  No sign up required.

Free and Reduced Meal Application
The TCAPS free and reduced meal application is now available online! Please visit
www.lunchapp.com and follow the instructions for the Traverse City Area Public Schools. This option allows you to complete the free and reduced application online and submit it electronically, saving time and money. You will still receive an approval letter though the mail, but your application may be approved faster. If you have questions regarding the online free and reduced meal application please contact the TCAPS food service department at  231-933-1910 . Visit the TCAPS Foodservice website to view school lunch menus, nutritional analysis and food allergen listings, and family friendly nutrition information. Follow the departmental links for foodservice at www.tcaps.net.
