The mission of Traverse City Central High School, a nurturing community of learners, is to ensure that all young adults become responsible, productive, self-expressive individuals able to achieve their full potential, through a safe, learner-centered cooperative partnership that celebrates diversity, creativity, and excellence.Traverse City Central High School is a comprehensive learning community comprised of approximately 1,600 students in grades 9 - 12. Students at Central High School excel in all areas academically, in fine arts, in athletics, and as model citizens serving the community in which they live. Students at Central High School excel in advanced placement courses and dual enrollment with neighboring Northwestern Michigan College. Students are provided support to ensure their success at high school. Our goal is to graduate well-rounded students who are capable of pursuing goals in technical fields or advanced education through college and university level courses.

Trojan Student Mentors – we have rescheduled our monthly lunch meeting for Tuesday, November 10th in Mr. Tisdale’s room. Bring your lunch he will provide the snack.
 
Congratulations to Chris Heimburger and Peter Pappas on being named All State in tennis this year. Harry Malone also received state recognition for most career wins, most wins for one season, and tournament titles. The Trojan boys varsity tennis team also received All State Academic honors, posting a 3.8 GPA. As a team, featuring three players with a perfect 4.0. Nice going Trojans!
 
Seniors – check the senior photos received list at Central’s website and at the MEAP office. Mrs. Yeomans is in F-158.
 
There will be a Food Drive running Monday, November 9th – 20th. The food drive will be a competition between first hour classes. Students are encouraged to bring in non-perishable food items to place in their first hour classroom. Student Senate members will collect every other day. The winning class will receive a buffet of donuts and apple cider!
 
Congratulations to the TCC band members on their individual performances at MSBOA District 2 Honors Band Auditions Wednesday night. Of the 95 students selected for this year’s Honors Band, 24 are from Central High School, more than any other school in the District 2!
 
The Academic Awards Ceremony scheduled for Tuesday, October 27th was cancelled due to Central High School closing, and will not be rescheduled. Students receiving their academic letter or pin should stop by the Counseling Office to pick them up along with a program for your parents. If you are unsure as to what you were receiving, please check out the Academic Awards lists outside the Counseling Office.

                           Central Michigan University - Thursday, Nov 12- 8:30 a.m.
                           Northwood University in Midland – Monday, Nov 16- 1:00 p.m.
 
Downhill Skiing - Weight Training will be on your own until November 16. If you have any questions call Austin.
 
Congratulations to Central’s Debate Team for going 22-2 at their first league competition! Special recognition goes to both Adela Fedor and Andy Wynkoop for getting 30 out of 30 speaker points in one of their rounds. REMEMBER, there is no practice this Sunday, but stop in and get your ballots and pay for your team shirts!

Attention students who are currently dual enrolled at NMC – Registration for NMC’s spring semester for students who are currently taking an NMC class begins now. Those students should go to Central High’s Student Services to pick up registration materials. Registration for students who will be new to dual enrollment will begin shortly.
