MHSAA Scholar-Athlete Award - Applications Due TODAY!
2014-15 marks the 26th year that Farm Bureau Insurance has sponsored the MHSAA's
Scholar-Athlete award.  This year, 32 $1,000 scholarships will be available to high school
 seniors who meet the eligibility requirements.  Requirements and application information
can be accessed through the web at
Completed application packets are due in the Athletic Office NO LATER than Friday,
November 21, by 3:15 pm.  This award is available to student-athletes who have a minimum
of a 3.5 cummulative GPA and, prior to their senior year, the student-athlete must have
earned at least one varsity letter in which the MHSAA sponsors a post-season tournament.

Staff and Students at CHS are invited to post a pic on Instagram with their favorite book
and tag it #tccreads. Each week until Christmas, we will select a pic and give away a
gift certificate - our stock includes Espresso Bay, Horizon Books, Brilliant Books, Family
Video, Paesanos and Mary's Kitchen Port!  If you'd like to participate but don't have an
Instagram account, just see our library staff and they will take your pic and post for you.

Financial Aid Night for Seniors and Parents!
Presented by Central High School and West Senior High
Tuesday, December 2 at 7:00 p.m. at the Central
High Cafeteria
You're invited to an informative presentation on how to get money and financial aid for
education after high school, presented by Northwestern Michigan College-Financial Aid Office. 
The new Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) forms will be discused.

Dual Enrollment at NMC
If your child is interested in dual enrolling at Northwestern Michigan College for the spring term,
which begins January 12, please have them fill out an online NMC application at
and make an appointment with their counselor.  The dual enrollment process takes
several days to complete, see the following documents for the process:

Registration for returning students begins on October 24 (depending on credits earned)
and registration for new students will begin on November 7.
